I found dolphin earlier today and decided to pop in a few GCN discs and get rippin' and playin'. When I put a disc into my laptop DVD drive (HP GT30L) all it does is spin and the file browser won't navigate to it. Does that mean my drive won't read my discs? Is there something I should do to get it to read?

You're going to need a very specific drive for reading GC discs and with a laptop, you're not going to be able to use that drive. If you had a desktop PC instead, you would be able to buy and install the drive needed.
****"How to dump a Wii or Gamecube game? Download Rawdump 2.1 and insert your Game DVD into your DVD Drive. Press "Start Dump". This may take a while. The game will be saved as a .wii or .wod file. After the dump has finished, press "Convert raw to .iso" and you are done. Open the .iso file with Dolphin and have fun.
