DVD Drive Problem

Hello there, my first post in the forums.

Today I have received a GameCube game I specifically bought to play on Dolphin emulator (Sonic Adventure 2), unfortunately, I am not able to play it due to not having a compatible DVD Drive. Although, I am open to buying one at a reasonable price and also in hope that it's an external DVD drive. I've been on the forums/google all day trying to figure out a way to resolve my issue but unfortunately I haven't had any luck or found anyone who made a thread/a reply on a thread with a similar problem to mine. Due to my problem with my DVD Drive, I cannot dump my game. I'm only looking for a DVD drive which would work with the emulator or if it is able to read the disc so I can dump it with Rawdump and be able to play it. If necessary please keep in mind that my internet is very slow where I live.

-I don't have a Wii/GameCube
-DVD Drive: TSSTcorpCDDVDW SU-208DB TF01
-Windows 8.1/Intel/Toshiba
-Dolphin 5.0
-I do not have another computer
-I do not want to buy a used/new console (Wii/Gamecube)
---If you need more info please post a reply on the thread asking specifically what you need in order to help me

I have read this thread so please don't link me to it as it hasn't really been much help other then helping me figure out my DVD drive isn't compatible.

So technically, the real question is whether I can have an external DVD drive (or if necessary I can install one) on my Windows 8.1 computer. For example, would this compatible drive work or not? I appreciate any help, thank you.

I use an LG GDR-8082N USB drive, FWIW. The Raw/Friidump thread has a list of compatible drives, but a lot of them are IDE and would require an adapter to connect to a modern PC.

Buying an used Wii will probably be cheaper and more reliable than any other option.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Would I need to buy an adapter and do you need a specific one? And would one of the compatible drives with Rawdump work with it?

If I really do have to, I will buy a used console. But that may be awhile from now as I'm not looking to buy one.

I bought a USB drive specifically so I wouldn't need any adapters. The price for my model seems to have nearly doubled over the last two years, though, so it would actually be about half as expensive to buy a Wii, most likely.

Alright. I'm trying to go for the cheapest option without buying a console, though.
I would prefer buying an adapter and a drive over buying a console, but I want someone to assure it would work as I don't want to waste any money. If anyone could recommend a drive and a adapter that they are positive would work I would appreciate it. Either that or someone can recommend the cheapest USB drive they can find (that's compatible)

If you want to not waste money buy a wii, it costs less and is guaranteed to work.
