Sorry to create another thread right away, but the one I just created was moved to hardware, and I think it's actually a different issue than that ...

Previously I'd posted that the emulator was only using 70% of my CPU on F-Zero GX despite only averaging about 40FPS. I realized that this was due to my having recently downloaded a new build and not overriden the config which disabled dual-core in F-Zero (stupid me), though it seems weird that the game was still managing to use two cores (just not to the max).

I've never had stability issues with dual core in F-Zero, so I went and turned that option back on, and while Dolphin is now using 100% of my CPU, it ... isn't actually any faster than it was before. Any idea what's going on here?

Dual-core was not set for F-Zero because that game was reported to crash or not run correctly with it.

I know it wasn't set for F-Zero, but does that mean that I can't override the setting when I right-click the game and select "Properties"? Because the interface implies that it's changing something...

You can, but dual-core was not set for a reason, the game is probably not going to run well with it.

You can look here when you load a game to see if it says "DC" (dual-core) or "SC" (single-core).

I guess so -- I assumed that it wasn't set because it caused stability issues, not because it failed to provide any speedup. Maybe I'm just being stubborn... I appreciate your help.

You can also right click on game title, select game properties and check "Accurate VBeam emulation" That will give a speedup. But still if there's no difference between DC and SC then something wrong with your system, because in this game dual core is about two times faster than single.
It's really unstable though, can crash at any moment in the race.
