Back in the Windows 7 times (and even Windows 8) I had learned one must *never* get driver updates from Windows Update. Namely ATI/Nvidia drivers, I remember Microsoft's driver updates always gave one problem or another, and always had to uninstall it, download manufacturer's one and install it to fix.

But now some neighbors have told me they haven't had much problems now on Windows 10. I refused to take their word, but days later I realized Nvidia now demands a $%#&/# account just to update the installed driver!! This thing named nvidia experience or the like. WTH!? IIRC certainly an account is cost free, but nevertheless it makes no sense! Leaves me with the only option of downloading the whole installer every week (or every freaking day!) to keep drivers up to date.

Asking for some advise, do you think windows update drivers are now more reliable, or should I better stick to manually update drivers by using nvidia's installer each time?

Thanks.

Windows Update provides a NVidia driver in case you don't have one, but don't follow latest NVidia driver updates, so you still have to download them manually or create a NVidia account to get them through GeForce Experience. AFAIK GeForce Experience also downloads the whole installer anyways.
From France with love.

I don't even use GeForce experience, I just get them straight from the site. But I haven't updated my drivers for a few revisions because the latest ones keep weirdly fucking up for me.

Yeah, you can tell the installer not to install GeForce Experiance, and you can just check up at Nvidia's website time to time.
