Doplin 5.0 crashes in same spot

I apologize if this has been posted before, I have spent the better part of an hour searching for a fix to this issue. im trying to play Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, and every time it gets to the intro scene, where the boat is floating, i hit A to continue, i get a white screen and then the entire program crashes....no warning, no boxes, its like im hitting the X to close it out.....im stumped...also, this is happening on my laptop
