Hi,
In Donkey Kong Country Returns on Dolphin 5.0-12247 x64, I've discovered a recurring freeze on stage 1-5 Canopy Cannons. The game freezes when waiting in a specific barrel to launch into another barrel that has a 1-up balloon rotating around it. The screen just froze there every time, and the emulator couldn't recover.
Sometimes other barrels cause a freeze too, but only the screen image itself freezes. Sometimes I can still control DK in the background, move through the level and can hear the music and sound effects in real-time, I just can't see anything but a still image of the frozen screen. The emulator needs closing through task manager each time.
The game was running perfectly on all the standard platforming levels up to this point, but these barrels seem to be causing freezes with my set-up.
My PC specs and settings:
Windows 10 x64, Intel Core i7-7700k 4.2GHz, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB.
Dolphin: Direct3D 12, Fullscreen, 4x Native resolution, AA none, Aniso 1x, Post-Processing off.
Things I've tried that didn't affect the problem:
Turn off panic handlers (because originally a blank 'Question' window popped up whenever it froze, and couldn't be clicked).
Play windowed.
Turned off V-sync and tried forcing V-sync and Triple Buffering through NVIDIA control panel.
Emptied Dolphin cache.
Turned off Enable Dual-Core in Dolphin configuration.
Thank you.
