Donation, how?

Sup guys,

I'd like to donate some coins ($) to this project, because I like supporting awesome and reliable Open Source projects from time to time. It wouldn't be a huge amount, but I'd like to give some sweet sugar when I can.

The question now is: Where is the donation button?

Thanks!

Cheers,
Ocean

The only way I know of would be to buy the "pro" app (all it does is give you a gold icon), or click ads on the site I guess

Buying the pro app doesn't donate money to the project, it pays Sonicadvance1. So while that money might be used for Android dev stuff, it won't go anywhere else.

Artificially clicking ads is a terrible idea and is more likely to get us banned than anything else.

But really, we don't need donations. What we get from ads money is already too much for us to spend it on useful things for the project.

Isn't that whole Amazon referral program still valid (for Americans anyway)?

At any rate, you would be better off donating time rather than money. Even if you can't code, checking out issues and reporting them is worthwhile (and fun, I mean you get to play games).

Sup there,

wow... now that is interesting, honest and fair indeed! A lot of projects happily accept donations and fail to deliver, but you guys deliver and don't want/need donations. Incredible, but hey; if you guys are all set via the cash you get from ads, no problemo! Big Grin

So that more or less means this project is healthy in many ways, which is good to read.

I look forward to everything you guys are cooking for us!

Oh btw, is the Dolphin version on the Google Play store officially supported by you guys or is it "just" a port made by someone else?

Cheers,
Ocean

Yeah, it's supported here, but it's only really usable if you've got a nVidia Tegra K1 based tablet/chromebook and it's not the nexus one that artificially limits OpenGL capabilities.
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Radeon Vega 56

Hello there,

sweet! I'll be purchasing the app tonight then. Smile

What kind of performance can one expect from a Nvidia Tegra based tablet using Dolphin? Would something like the Nvidia Shield be an option and if so; at what kind of performance are we looking at here? And are there any smartphones that can deliver the OpenGL capabilities Dolphin needs to run nicely?

Cheers,
Ocean

Tegra? Oh crap. The CPU is fine, but the GPU doesn't support OpenGL ES 3 which is required for our hardware backends. Be prepared for the software renderer ....

The two currently available Tegra K1 devices are pretty different. There's the Shield which is the best android device for Dolphin currently available, then there's the Nexus 9 which has crippled drivers (see above comment) but a potentially faster CPU (ARMv8 compatible).

degasus' comment doesn't even apply to Tegra K1 on the Nexus 9, which runs Dolphin perfectly fine (while crippled).
