Dolphinbar Issues w/ New Wii Motionplus Remote

Question
I recently bought a refurbished wiimote plus remote / nunchuck set from Nintendo and a Dolphinbar to use with dolphin. I've updated the Dolphinbar with the latest firmware (V03) and together with the wiimote they work fine in mouse mode and gamepad mode. My problem is that I can't get Dolphin to detect the remote when I have it set to Wii Remote emulation mode (mode 4.)

Some info:

I have tried 3 different versions of Dolphin with no luck: v4.0-3655, v4.0-3764, and v4.0-2241
As I mentioned, I have updated the Dolphinbar with the latest firmware
I've tried continuous scanning mode and refresh + buttons 1 and 2 (refresh usually just hangs and then does nothing or just freezes dolphin up completely)
Speaker data is disabled
I've tried syncing it with and without the nunchuck attached
The numbers on the inside of my controller are lmb-rvl-wr/z-c4 and RVL-036

I searched these forums in case anyone else had posted about a similar problem but to no avail. I'm really sorry if someone has already figured this out and I just didn't look hard enough for the solution.
Your help with this matter is greatly appreciated.

Did you plug it in to usb3 by any chance? If so try in usb2.

To check for dohs, post a screenshot of your wiimote window please.

You don't need to sync it again, you'll just confuse the poor thing. Once synced with the DolphinBar it works like a Wii - just press a button and the wiimote will connect. Here, I'll give you some steps (assuming the Wiimote is synced with the DolphinBar and it is in mode 4, and the wiimote is off).

1. Turn on Continuous Scanning in the wiimote settings.
2. Close Dolphin (just for the sake of this test)
3. With the DolphinBar in Mode 4, press a button on the wiimote, and wait for the lights to stop blinking and a solid first light.
4. Open dolphin and run a wii game. The wiimote should vibrate, that's Dolphin connecting with it.

Don't press 1+2 or the sync button or anything, you'll just get Dolphin confused.

I just bought the dolphin bar and have the exact same issue. when i'm in mode 4 and open a game.. the controller vibrates as if its going to work.. and then nothing works in game. i can setup manually most of the controls if i use mode3 and it will work but i don't think this is ideal since i wont be able to setup everything manually.

is there some way i can debug this? is there a debug gui for when using "real" wiimotes to test what is/isn't working?

fyi im using a controller with integrated wii motion plus which very likely isn't genuine since i bought it from tmart

That's why. 3rd party wiimotes don't work with Dolphin or the Dolphinbar, and they never have.

And please make your own threads for stuff. Don't assume that similar symptom = the same thing, cause it might not be (like this case).

The fact that most 3rd party wiimotes don't work properly with dolphin since forever is worthless info to you? The op was asking for info btw and not for debug builds. Here is a debug build: https://dl.dolphin-emu.org/builds/dolphin-master-4.0-3769-dbg-x64.7z
