Hello.
I've been having a few problems with the Mayflash Dolphinbar. It syncs properly, it works fine in-game, and if it's on when Dolphin or a game starts it'll connect, vibrate to confirm and work almost flawlessly.
Unfortunately my problem seems to start when it's the Wii remote is disconnected, either by powering it off or being disconnected in-game.
If I turn off the Wii remote or if it loses connection, Dolphin doesn't realise it's been disconnected and throw up an on-screen message as it probably should. When the remote is turned on again it connects to the DolphinBar and lights up as player 1, but doesn't vibrate and isn't recognised in Dolphin and none of the buttons do anything. Clicking refresh doesn't work, and leaving continuous scanning on or off makes no difference.
The only solution I've found is to manually disconnect and reconnect using Alt-F5.
Pressing Alt-F5 is pretty awkward though, because I intend to stream Dolphin across the house from my PC using Moonlight and VirtualHere (Both of which work without a problem thankfully) and the keyboard will be in another room... But I know for a fact neither of those is causing the issue because I plugged the DolphinBar directly into my PC and the exact same thing happens every time.
Here's what I've been doing to cause the problem (It's not hard for me to replicate, because it happens every time without fail):
I start Dolphin with the Wii remote on and it vibrates.
I start up a game and it vibrates.
I press the Wii menu button to pause (Just to see if the icon changes, it's not necessary for this to happen) and then hold the power button to shut the Wiimote off.
I don't get a disconnect message on-screen, or any new messages in the log, and the icon on the pause menu remains white instead of greying out as if the remote is still connected.
I turn the remote on again and it lights up as player one and the DolphinBar lights up on the left, but the remote doesn't vibrate and no new messages appear on-screen or in the log.
Pressing refresh in control settings does nothing at this point.
The only thing that works is pressing Alt-F5 to disconnect it, then pressing Alt-F5 again to reconnect and then it will vibrate and work normally.
Pressing buttons on the controller after the first Alt-F5 also does nothing, and refresh still doesn't do anything either.
Here's also a few things I've tried so far:
Deleting the device in Windows, unplugging it and plugging it back in.
Added portable.txt to my Dolphin installation directory to generate new configs.
Checked the DolphinBar firmware is updated to the latest version
Checked Dolphin is updated.
Switched USB ports from USB 3.0 to USB 2.0 both on case and motherboard.
Turned off antivirus temporarily and closed unnecessary programs in background.
Some additional info:
I'm running Dolphin 5.0-9896 and had the same problem with 5.0-9888 too before updating.
The DolphinBar's firmware is fully updated.
The Wiimote model I'm using is RVL-003.
I'm using Windows 10 Home 1809 (Build 17763.379) (I don't have a second PC to test with though)
I also saved two logs as text files which I'll attach to the post. One with only IOS-USB, IOS-Wii Remote and Wiimote enabled, and the other with everything enabled. Both times I start Wii Sports, power off the Wiimote at the menu, press a few buttons after it's "connected" as player 1 and then press Alt-F5 twice to reconnect before closing the game. I can't see any errors but as I said previously, nothing seems to happen at all until I hit Alt-F5.
I've played using the DolphinBar and Wiimote in the past but don't remember noticing this problem before, so whether it's a new problem or old I have no clue. I'll check out some earlier versions of Dolphin later and come back with an update but I haven't had the chance just yet.
I've looked around and found a few older threads about various connection problems with the DolphinBar, but I've found no way to actually fix the problem. It doesn't seem like a problem with the DolphinBar since the controller syncs and reconnects just fine, and will connect fine as long as the remote is on when Dolphin starts. I think it's probably related to either Windows or Dolphin, but I could still be wrong.
I'm a little lost at this point and would appreciate any help or suggestions you guys can give me. Thanks.
Edit: Unplugging the nunchuck seems to reconnect the remote for some reason. Don't know if it refreshes something but if it works consistently it'll be better than using the key combo.
