DolphinBar - Disconnects and desyncs

Hey all  Smile

After getting into using Dolphin recently, I decided it was time to get a DolphinBar too. It arrived the other day and all was working great at first (I used the Stingray racing in Super Mario Galaxy as a test) until it my Wiimote decided to power down (batteries still full). When trying to reconnect it to the DolphinBar, I wasn't able to so decided to quit the game by with ESC, re-sync the Wiimote controller and try again. Syncing worked but the issue popped up again soon after re-entering the game.

Re-syncing the Wiimote past this point was very hit or miss, and it got to the point where I tried changing the USB port and reinstalling the drivers through the Hardware and Devices window in Control Panel to see if this would prompt the sync to be less random. Reinstalling the drivers kinda worked, and allowed the syncing to work better again. That said, this meant that it was also disconnecting in games again and I was back to square 1. Sad

Now it's at the point where re-syncing just isn't working at all, seemingly regardless of what I do. Undecided Any help with sorting this out would be much appreciated!

Oh, and here's some answers to a few common questions I've seen popping up throughout my own research into fixing this:
  • Latest main version (5.0) of Dolphin installed
  • Tried updating the bar with software released on the website late 2016, got the message of it being up to date
  • Tested the bar initially with the Wiimote that came with Skyward Sword (one of the first with MotionPlus inside), and then also with an original RVL-003 to see if the disconnects were happening with that too (they were)
  • Dolphin is set to using Real Wiimote, continuous scanning is on, speaker data is off
  • Tested the bar using both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, no difference on either
Thanks Big Grin

Well, first of all, the DolphinBar doesn't really need or use drivers, and drivers have no effect on its ability to sync with a wii remote. The software that comes with the DolphinBar is just for updating purposes.

Wii Remotes pair with the DolphinBar, so you can move the DolphinBar around and they will still be paired to the bar. So I would suggest just taking the computer out of the equation right away, and trying it on another PC. Don't install the Dolphinbar "drivers", just plug it in and try a wii remote with it! Try it with Dolphin too if you get a stable connection.

May have been poor wording on my part there, all I meant was windows installing it as an input device.
Nevertheless, gave it a go on another computer with the same results: Plugged it in, and began trying to sync to the bar in mode 4 and then in mode 1... Nothing  Undecided

It sounds like its broken. Sad There isn't really much anyone can do when a Dolphinbar stops pairing...

Ah well... I was beginning to think that may be the case. At least I should be able to get a replacement pretty easily considering I only ordered it a few days ago. Thanks for the help anyway Smile
