Dolphin won't even start on Shield?

Not sure if this has been reported before yet here I am.

I am trying to get Dolphin up and running on my Nvidia Shield TV (more specifically, the 2017 model) which is running the latest OS version.

I installed the latest version of the Dolphin for Android APK from a USB drive that is set as removable storage, with the intention of running a small number of GameCube games, and when I tried to open the app, it did this:

"Allow Dolphin Emulator to access storage?"

-> Allow

*gets kicked back to the Shield's home menu*

So, thinking it was a one time deal, I tried to open the app again and absoultely nothing happened.


Does anyone know what's going wrong? And how to fix this, maybe? =P

I have the Shield Tv, but the 2019 pro version and if you download the latest one from the Dolphin site it should work. I think i had trouble with the 2nd oldest one as well, but just downloaded the latest one and worked straight away.

But its not the newest one anymore, the one i downloaded and worked for me was 5.0 .11371

Same as you here, Shield TV Pro(2019) with latest firmware.
I download the 5.0-11701 Version which is the latest at that time, and it quits unexpectedly.
Then I think maybe the crash log report(internal/dolphin-emu/Logs/dolphin.log) could help see more detail, but unlucky it's blank.
