Hello guys,

I'm very noob with Ubuntu but I'm trying to use dolphin with it. I tried The legend of Zelda twilight princess wii european game and after 10s without any image, the popup-window and the emulator crash.

Anyone could try to help me?

Thanks

What popup window?
What build of Ubuntu?
What system specs?
What error comes up when it crashes?
_____________

Answer those questions, then maybe we can help.

The window opening immediately when you start a game
Ubuntu 9.04
Dolphin for linux 4494
Zotac 9300 + 2Go Ram, E5200, rom on a network HDD
No error come when it crashes, the game's window and dolphin's main windows close before to show any picture

Maybe I need to restart from zero the installation. I'm very noob and I can't do it without a tuto.

Specs are ok enough to run Dolphin at a playable speed.
OS should work fine.
The "popup" window is just the render window, you can disable that by setting the option to "render to main window".
The fact that it closes with no error means that there's probably an appcrash log being dumped instead. If you're not familiar enough with Ubuntu to find that, you may want to learn a bit more about your OS.

You never mentioned whether you downloaded a precompiled build, or built Dolphin yourself. I'll assume it's precompiled just based on your knowledge of Ubuntu, and so I suggest that you learn to build a copy from SVN yourself. Precompiled Linux applications don't always transfer from one machine to another very well... They depend on core features of your Linux kernel and system drivers of a specific version.

So, as far as I can tell from your crashlog, Nigel, it looks like Dolphin crashed as soon as it tried to access your video card through OpenGL. Try updating your video card drivers. (I'm not a Linux nut, so I can't help with that part.) Are you able to use 3D accelleration in other applications? (Like Compiz?)

Also, you never mentioned your video card. Dolphin uses OpenGL 2.1, and your card must support at least that version or newer.
