Hi
I've just joined the forum, I'm based in the UK (PAL) and loved my Gamecube when I played all the time 10+ years ago. I recently dug it out and realised I can't plug it into my new smart TV.
I've decide I'm going start playing it again and collecting games. I'm currently using my WII with a WII 2 HDMI converter, this looks OK, but I imagine I can get a much better experience via a different solution.
I saw recently that a HD Mod has been developed:- Nintendo Life HD Mod Review
I would like your opinions on which will give me the better solution, Dolphin or a HD Modded Gamecube?
I can think of a few considerations:-
1. Apparently the Mod works best with Progressive Scan games which is NTSC only, so I would have to buy NTSC games (I have about 10 PAL games at the moment)
2. There seems to still be lots of improvements needed to Dolphin from a quick look at the website - not sure how many of these are enhancements vs game play bugs
3. Dolphin would allow me to protect my games as after i'd created a ROM they could stay in there cases
4. HD Mod would allow me to use the original hardware - not a big deal either way for me
5. I would buy a new small profile PC to sit under my TV if I go for Dolphin
Thanks!
