In this thread I want to create a format for each of us to use.

To post in this thread, I want you to create a list of issues you have starting with the Build of Dolphin you're using, SVN 4638 x86 or x64 for example, then list you're computer specs so that the beginning of each post looks like this....

SVN 4638 x86 and x64

( IF YOUR USING OTHER BUILDS AND THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM LIST THOSE OTHER BUILDS HERE AS WELL )....

CPU: 2.6GHz Intel i7 920 Quad Core
RAM: DDR3 1333MHz 9GB tripple channel
Video: Nvidia geForce 260 GTX oc PCI-e, 1.7GB Vram, latest 3D driver
MOBO: Dell XPS 9000

Then after that, begin putting your problems in with this format...

1. First issue for me, is that some of the best games for Wii that should be the first games being worked on such as: Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, Punch Out, Sillent Hill: Shattered Memories, etc., emulating these top name games should be the first thing to get fixed then everything else after that.

Also, individual game issues should be listed in order of what you think is most important to least seperated by periods...

2. RESIDENT EVIL: DARKSIDE CHRONICLES - problems: Sound glitchy, Game Stuttering, Sound of gunfire drops out after a bit - but works perfect in build 4638 though game play is slower. No way to disable post processing without messing up other graphics. When trying to play in Stereo 3D, save states don't work in newer builds - this is a problem with all games.

3. PUNCH OUT - problems: Sound is very bad - Like Zombie is screaming and in slowmotion, other than that it's emulated pretty well except for a couple slowdowns that are bearable but the sound is unbearable.

4. SILLENT HILL: SHATTERED MEMORIES - problems: Glitches with lighting, where light textures are duplicated and shadows splinter all over the screen. Besides the shadows splintering and the light textures duplicating game is pretty well emulated but in DX9 mode there are issues where text is scrammbled, OpenGL doesn't have this problem.

Also, IF YOU GET A GAME WORKING PERFECTLY, you can also post in this thread which version of Dolphin you're using, followed by screenshots of your settings in Dolphin and make sure to start with your system specs.

If you have more technical problems to be addressed, also list them with numbers and sperate each part of the problem with periods.

And the game discussion forum in addition to that...

It looks like the Wiki page only gives point rating and doesn't discuss issues with each game. I'm just curious why there isn't anything like this thread already on the site, is there no way to report problems with the builds from one to the next that has a format like this? If not than this should be made a sticky, or even its own sub forum. I myself, and I'm sure many others, didn't know about the Wiki page, and on top of that have never used Wiki. Sorry about putting it in General Discussions first, I just figured that someone might see it sooner if I did. I also think that if no one is referred to this thread when they report game specific issues, then it won't get used much. I just want something that the Emulator Users and The Emulator Creators can use together to discuss and update progress with the emulator. Also, it would be really great if there was a thread like this, but where when you click reply, there's already a predefined format displayed in the text box so you just have to fill in the blanks. Like this...

Well you don't really need mobo up there I guess but you get the idea.

That looks an awful lot like what you would put in this: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/list
I would suggest using that. Between Google Project Issues and the Game Discussion Sub-Forum it's pretty well covered.

No I still think it would be better if The developers of the software still had more to read through rather than just one problem per build, not to mention that's probably problems they are stating. I know the developers of this can't possibly test all games, they don't have time. So Im proposing a thread that they can look through to take advantage of all the possible game and build revision testers out there that will not only do it for free, but report their issues for free as well. Why waste time testing all the games instead of working on current problems when they could just look through a thread to see what has gotten messed up and what is still working correctly? It seems like common sense to me yet no one here is paying much attention to this issue, not that no one here doesn't have common sense I am just curious why this kind of beta testing form doesn't already exist is all.

@Emude

You literally just listed a perfect description of what the googlecode issue page already does.

Quote:The developers of the software still had more to read through rather than just one problem per build, not to mention that's probably problems they are stating.

It doesn't work like that. Look at it again.

I see what you mean, people can leave comments, not many people seem to though. Also, all the comments ever seem to say is "build fails, try other build..." I just think that the people who come on the forum, are people who find issues then search google for the forum. Then they find it, try to find a solution, can't, then make a profile, make a thread and hope that someone sees it and knows the answer. Most wouldn't think to look on google code, just wondering why this is on google code and not on the forum site. Is it a bandwidth issue?

googlecode is all about the development of dolphin. If you want to help the development of dolphin whether it's by contributing code or posting issues that is where you need to be. The forum is not a developer resource, more of a place for people to talk about dolphin or ask questions. Their is nothing to stop you from posting issues on the forum, but since the developers use googlecode if you want the developers to know about the issues you HAVE to post it there.
