Currently Dolphin will ignore whatever device I am using to emulate a Wiimote. I have tried using keyboard+mouse and a gamepad. I am able to map out the controls perfectly fine in the configuration, but once I start the game and load my state I have an issue. Having used Dolphin for more than 6 hours (on multiple occasions) with the same settings and suddenly getting issues just confuses me. However, this happened after I made a save state and came back to the game later after loading it. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Dolphin suddenly ignoring inputs

I guess, the problem are the savestates. They seem to be buggy and unreliable.
Try to avoid them and save in-game. 07-03-2012, 11:31 PM
I have older save states from before I was getting this issue, and they aren't working either. Also, I can't even load normally through the menu.

It's probably an issue with all save states, not just ones after the issue occurred. You said you can't load normally through the in-game menu, is this due to the fact that you can't use any input, or is something else preventing you? Some advice, save normally in-game from the start, and only resort to save states for certain situations e.g. there are no save points/checkpoints around or you're trying to deal with an annoying boss, those kinds of things. Saving normally, however, should always be how you record your progress in a game. 07-04-2012, 12:32 AM

I have a normal saves and save states at my furthest point in the game. None of my inputs are being recognized before I even attempt to load. I can't even get past the "Attach your wriststrap!" screen by hitting buttons.
Which revision did you use? (You mentioned 3.0-7617 in your profile but it doesn't exist)
Which game(s) did you play?

Seems likely a purely controller related issue, so I'm moving this to the Controllers forum. If you can, post a screen shot of your Wiimote configuration in Dolphin.

My keyboard was only used in an attempt to see if my controller broken so I didn't bother changing the keys. If you want any other settings just let me know, I appreciate the help. Edit: I didn't bother putting in a screenshot of it saying "Emulated Wiimote" as I thought it would be a given. 07-04-2012, 01:51 AM

I'd say it's not a controller issue and is a save-state issue. If he were to start the game over again, I'm sure his controller would work just fine (correct me if I'm wrong). I'd say never use save-states. You can go on saving through the game normally for half the game, then once you make a save-state and use a real in-game save on top of it, things can get screwed. Sometimes your controller won't work, sometimes the sound will stop working, it's not worth the risk. There are times when things will work well, but you never know. Use the real game saves.

My controller and keyboard wont even work on the menu, once Dolphin opens up to emulate... nothing works. Mapping out the keys in the configuration is fine. |
