Whenever I press escape to quit a game, the screen just goes completely black.  Only way I can really quit is to sign off my account in windows and sign back on.  I can open task manager and see that Dolphin is not reasponding, but I can't see my cursor and the only way to quit is to sign out of windows.  That is just ridiculous to quit a game.  What happened to the escape button working?

Use the latest dev build, there was a hot key bug which caused this. Or use OpenGL.

Grab the latest dev build, open the hotkey menu, and hit the default button.

This bug is not caused by hotkey changes and it has not been fixed yet. To avoid it, do one of the following:
  • Enable Confirm on Stop
  • Enable Borderless Fullscreen
  • Change video backend to OpenGL
