Hello guys,
I have a little problem that I have been trying to troubleshoot for the past days and I need your help with it
So to summarize my situation, I have been using dolphin for about a month. You can see my HTPC config in my profile, it is not very high, but I have been able to play without major slowdown New Super Mario Bros and some other games (Rayman, even zelda ss), with 2 players.
Recently I am not able to play NSMB anymore with 2 players. When the second wiimote is connected, the game start to get very slow. As soon as I disconnect the second, it is speedy again.
When I am checking performances, I see my CPU is used 100% (didn't check that before having the problem unfortunately), like 60% by dolphin and 40% by sytem.
I did quite a lot of change in hardware (I changed the HDD hosting host and dolphin, but I don't think it is slower according to reviews even it i5400rpm instead of 7200 I had before) and I updated GPU drivers (but get back to the old one and still same problem)
I am using toshiba stack for bluetooth with a branded class I adapter. I didn't do update concering bluetooth before the problem appears.
I tried lot of GPU drivers, tried different dolphin revs, but the problem seems to be there now forever
I don't understand because it was working perfectly well before, for me it cannot be HDD issue, and it would be weird that it is GPU drivers as the game is full speed with one wiimote connected. Any idea welcome !
Subsidiary questions : if we forget this problem and imagine I want to run more powereating games like super mario galaxy, I understood the most important for dolphin is CPU, so if I update my CPU to let's say a core I3 or I5 around 3.2GHZ, will my GPU be sufficient, or will I need to change it too?
in addition i'd like to add that even if NSMB worked better with OpenGL before, I also tried DX9 plugin and still got the same slowdown when connecting second wiimote
