So most hard to run Wii games lag at some points, but Super Mario Galaxy runs the worst. In most places in the game, the game runs at 60 fps, but it really lags in some places, especially beside or above the bedroom at certain camera angles were the game will run at only 35 fps. Here's my PC specs: Nvidia GTX 960 4GB, AMD FX 6300 3.5 GHz, Kingston 8GB ram, Windows 10 x64, and Dolphin 5.0-9156 x64. I've tried changing the power plan to high performance and changing the Global and dolphin NVIDIA control panel power setting to prefer maximum performance, updated my Nvidia graphics drivers and tested each graphics backed [Vulcan runs the best] and updated my Vulcan runtime libraries but those didn't work. Turning on Skip EFB Access from CPU fixes the lag, but then i can't pick up star bits using the Wii pointer. I am also using the Mayflash DolphinBar.

your PC is not good.
Maybe you can run PC games fine, but emulation requires very strong single threaded performance, which that generation of AMD CPUs are absolutely terrible at. There is nothing you can do. 11-29-2018, 08:25 AM
The problem is your CPU. AMD FX CPUs have relatively low single-threaded performance per instruction, which is one of the biggest factors dictating CPU performance for Dolphin. It's been an issue for years (ever since I joined at least). While Dolphin has been optimized greatly in the past couple of years, it's still demanding as an application, and Bulldozer/Piledriver et al are still weak with respect to any recent Intel CPU or any Ryzen CPU.
So in short, consider a CPU upgrade. Your GPU isn't going to be the issue unless you add on insane settings. 11-29-2018, 08:44 AM

Yeah but this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVnhcq68Y_4 has the same CPU and he plays the same game and he gets much better performance than me, and I tried the build he used and I still got lag in the same area. Does how much of the hub you unlock affect the performance?

Does the video show whether or not they overclocked their CPU? That alone could make all the difference if they cranked it to 4.1GHz or something like that.

There may have also been config changes that may affect performance significantly since 5.0 (I don't know if SMG uses the mmu, for example).

Your CPU's single-thread passmark rating is only around 1400. You need around 1800 or higher to ensure good performance in Dolphin.
