Can you do better? I dont care shit about your opinion about it. I asked for constructive criticism, not a "I dont like, I like opinion".

I hope that's a joke Tongue...if its not, I must say that I already tied to keep it simple with a common mario silluete/shape thing, but people bitched about it. Even I could see that it had some problems (hard to distinguish for example)

----

Anyways: Please, if you're gonna post "I like it, I dont like it" please dont do it. Im looking to get the best design possible without creating a flamewar between logos and subjetive opinions.

The thing is like this... I tried to improve on the old-logo style, bringing today standards to the table, nice shading, coherent, and sleek at the same time. The old logo sported a web2.0 like shading, I tried to remove it while maintaining the feeling of it.

This is the current logo along my new logo (before everyone bitched about having different sides):

See the difference?

fwiw, since when is "web 2.0 like" an expression for showing how outdated stuff is? Tongue

anyway, ever thought of showing the cube in a 30° angle view rather than 45°, so that the "dolphin side" gets more attention? Not sure if that's better, but I'm curious to see how it'd look Big Grin

Well, one of the Web 2.0 features were: "Rich Internet Application (RIA) - It defined the experience brought from desktop to browser whether it is from a graphical point of view or usability point of view. Some buzz words related to RIA are AJAX and Flash."...and that was in 2004.

Gradients and similar glossy stuff appeared at the same time as a trend of the time that the Web 2.0 changed the past standards to the current ones. All the webs appeared to sport a glossy finish Tongue... It was cool, because it was a trend, everybody wanted glossy buttons and stuff. Now the fever has "passed" and today trends in the design scene are totally different, using sleek, sharp, beautiful and clear logos and buttons.

Anyways, I haven't tried...mostly because that cube was handmade with vectors (no 3D used at all), I can modify it a little, but I dont think that will look good at all, the symmetry here helps a lot in this kind of design.

Well what kinda disturbs me is that the dolphin gets less attention than the Wii disc on the logo which seems kinda strange. IMO the dolphin should be in the main focus of the logo. (not sure how comprehensible this is without some explanation why, but I'll just leave this here)

Oh I know why that happens. Its mostly because we read from left to right, so when looking at the logo, we see the Revolution logo disc first... I may need to change the positions of these so we look at the dolphin logo first.

Science Big Grin

Im kinda busy right now with my job, I'll do it when I come back home, later in the night.

Have to agree on that one, in this case the old logo looks better somehow for the eyes.

Can't really say I could do anything better, but if I had to choose I either would take the old one or the one with the small logos that you showed before.

Is there a possibility in making one with either Samus, Pit or Link instead of the usual plain Mario.
Samus, Pit and Link have some great poses that could look really good for a logo.

Like this one (Samus):

or this one (Link):

or this one (Pit)

Seems like Mario is always getting more attention, the one above is just examples of other famous Nintendo characters.

It is bad not to recognize that someone might not like your "work"!

You are asking to give you our feeling about it (wich I did in my first post and I tried to be constructive ),now that was a joke (the "this is ugly as hell ^^ ) because you just want to do what you actually want , right ?If not , just relax dude

Opinions, opinions. That's being subjective.
Look at it from a design-wise point, you'll see that has a lot of problems.

I recognize that we have different opinions...and that's why I asked people to being objective, I don't really need subjective opinions to improve my work because...we're all different.

Sorry If I didnt got the joke anyways.

--------

Anyways, for those that think that the old logo is "better for the eyes"...that's because its using a stupid stroke. It kills the design style and changes it to a fucking cartoon-high visibility-like thing.

I made changes to the position of the icons so we see the dolphin first. It's better to me now.

But since everybody asked for stuff like that, here we go:
Ultra-stroked, Less-stroked, Sleek-one
