Dolphin runs worse when my laptop is plugged in

When I plug my laptop in, the games run at about 50fps, but when my laptop is on battery, they run at 60fps. I made sure that the power plan is on high performance, and it's not an optimization issue.

What I do notice is that in task manager, when the laptop is plugged in, the integrated graphics are being used much less and the dedicated graphics are being used much more, but when on battery, it seems they split the job.

Any idea what's going on here and how to fix it? Thanks.

EDIT: By the time this post went up, I had figured out the issue. I don't know why, but making dolphin run on the integrated graphics (by right clicking and choosing the graphics processor) instead of the nvidia one fixed this.

You might have a shared heat pipe between the CPU and Nvidia GPU. If the Nvidia GPU gets too hot the CPU might be throttling to compensate.

If when you're plugged in, and you have Windows Power Options set to High Performance, do you also have a profile setup in Nvidia Control Panel for Dolphin that has the Power Management set to "prefer maximum performance"? If you do, and you're seeing the throttling problem where your CPU is at ~1.0 GHz, then it's a throttling problem.
