Hey I just got the newest version of Dolphin, version 3.5-1886 to be precise and I ran Xenoblade Chronicles but it was running at around 20-25 fps. I have a pretty good laptop, though, with an nvidia geforce gtx 660M graphics card, shouldn't it run from around 45 -60 fps? Under the graphics tab I put direct 3d9 for backend and for the adapter it shows nvidia geforce 660M. I tried changing the backend to direct 3d11 with the same adapter but then an error came up that said "failed to enumerate outputs" and then dolphin crashed. Are 20-25 fps just about the best I can do with my current specs? Or is there something else I can do to make the game run smoother? Like mess with the configurations or something? The rest of my specs are as follows:

Intel core i5-3230M CPU @ 2.6 GHz
Ram: 8.00Gb (7.89GB usable)
64-bit Operating System
Windows 8 OS

Xenoblade is a 30 fps game so you can't get more thanb this.

Now your CPU is probably too weak to run this game full-speed. Above all with recent builds

And actually it´s a miracle to run that game at that speed, even with a weak CPU.

Oh okay, do all wii games on dolphin have a max speed of 30 fps? And are there any tweaks that can be made to get dolphin to run it closer to a constant 30 fps?

First question: Of course not, for heaven´s sake! (there´s no intention of offense). There are also ones that run at 60 FPS when in full speed.

Second question: Run the emulator with a lower resolution (decrease the resolution that your O.S. uses first, and then the one that uses the emulator for the rendering), disable Distance Alpha, disable fog, using EFB to texture (only if RAM EFB is not needed); disable anti-aliasing and decrease the anisotropic filtering to 1X.

Wow thank you so much! That really helped a lot and I'm now running at a very smooth and constant 30 fps! Thanks again! Big Grin
