So I built a slightly better (but not by much) computer than i had before (specs of the old one in the hardware thread, this one only has 1 ghz more processor at 3.3, which is 3.5 overclocked and maybe 1 gig more memory but thats it) and now with primarily default settings with only two or three things changed, i seem to find my skies of arcadia legends (one of the more infamous laggy games) now running faster than "normal" To try and put it simply, before outside of cut scenes the best it was doing was about 30-40 fps and even then it still felt kind of laggy in some spots, now i can alter settings and get it to be anywhere from 30 to 60 fps yet it doesnt actually get any faster or slower, it stays the same speed. I was trying to avoid having to include a dxdiag for my specs (not to mention doing so i would feel this post would be better suited for the hardware thread) but if need be i can. at this point my only other option to try is to attempt to delete the emu, download it again, and hope it will start from default settings.

A few things to try:

1. Use the latest development version of Dolphin from the Download link at the top of this page.
2. Disable V-sync in the graphics settings
3. Change the framelimiter to Auto
4. Turn off Limit by FPS

Well now im kicking myself in the teeth, I already tried those suggestions but nothing changed, so i got fed up and just started from basic default (fresh download and everything) and now the emulator is once again running slow, in fact slower than on my other computer... i had followed some guide i found on youtube which i of course cant find anymore, that got me to a slightly improved performance, and i dunno if i changed something accidentally or if when i reset my comp some setting changed i didnt know about, and poof the speed went higher. i swear ill play this darn game if it kills me

Both actually, you said you did a fresh download, i'm asking if the fresh download was the same version as the previous, different enhancements and code optimizations may yield either speed ups or slow downs between different versions.

Also post your current settings.
......?????
