Dolphin reports real wii remote connection, but still no input

Hey everyone,

I have installed a RVL-CNT-01 with a Rocketfish Micro USB adapter, confirmed to work here: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/List_of_Working_Bluetooth_Devices

Once I get into Dolphin, I'm able to (sometimes) successfully Refresh and get "1 connected", which also is reflected with a single light being lit on the Wii Remote and by vibrating the remote.

My problem is that in spite of this, there is no input with any game. It worked once, but not since a system restart days ago.

I realize this problem is probably not limited to Dolphin, but possibly to some system problem, but I'm at a loss as to where else to ask. GlovePIE is not working either, even with this light and vibration working (I'm not trying to run GlovePIE and Dolphin concurrently).

The Toshiba stack will not register this dongle, and Bluesoleil won't even install, so they aren't options either.

If anyone has any input, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks a bunch for reading.

EDIT: added more stuff

Is it an official Wiimote?

Yes LordVador, it is an official Wii Remote.

I've also tested this on another Win7 x64 PC this morning, and I found myself in the exact same position (Dolphin sees it, turns on a light and vibrates, but no input). What's most interesting about this whole mess is that I can run Wiican in Ubuntu with this Bluetooth dongle and it works beautifully.

Thanks a bunch for responding!

The build you're using is old (and comes from a source that is no more supported on the forum). You can find latest builds here. Try that. You could also try with the stable release (3.5)

How'd I not get the most stable version...weird.

Okay, I tried the latest stable (only reports 3.5 in the Help->About), and I had the same behavior.

Using the most recent development release (1388) did not even get that far; refreshing did not find the remote, but it was in as a listed device in Devices and Printers.

Which game(s) have you tried?
Is your Wiimote still found after launching the game ("Wiimote connected" should be written at the bottom)?

Okay, I figured out my problem.

That particular Wii remote simply wouldn't connect to anything, including an actual Wii, so I removed the battery to reset it, and now it's working. I still can only connect once or twice per boot before I can't (re)connect anymore.

Thanks a bunch for your help Lord. Saved me buying a new dongle/genuine gamepad.
