Dolphin Questions

so i downloaded dolphin to emulate gc games and i have some questions

i have managed to get windwaker working great with speeds into 90-100% most of the time it stays 100%

but game like lost kingdoms or lost kingdoms 2 run ok, but speeds are 60-100% what should i do to speedup emulation? i have tried checking and unchecking different options for configuration and graphics. i have also tried running my games on dolphin 2 and dolphin 3. for now it seems my games run BETTER on dolphin 3. maybe i need to invest in a graphics card?? my specs below.

windows 7 64xbit system
intel hd graphics (i know sucks)
8 GB ram
i3 core cpu 550 @ 3.2gz

if i do need a graphics card, what is my best options for $100

second i have configured gcpad with dolphin 3 but i cannot get the rumble to work for my logitech rumble pad i have read something about njoy and have looked into it but its only for dolphin 2? im not sure, can someone help me out with this??\

this game runs very poorly for me so any thoughts/ comments would be appreciated!

You need a graphics card.

Do you have a brand preference (nvidia or ati)?

If you can't use newegg you will probably need to buy either a GT 440 or HD6670.

Rogue Leader is not well emulated by dolphin.

hi, thank you for your reply. no i dont have a brand preference. since i know i will be investing in a graphics card i need one with these minimum requirements to run empire total war as well


Graphics Card: 256MB DirectX 9.0c compatible video card (shader 2.0 or higher).

If you live in America yes (newegg is only available in the United States and Canada).

Are you saying you have a gamepad but cannot get the rumble function to work? If so I would post your issue in the controllers section of the forum.

No. Dolphin is the only decent GC emulator that exists.

Some games will not run well no matter what you do. This is something you will just have to deal with.

It depends on whether your GPU is the bottleneck or not. What graphics settings do you use? Does the emulation speed decrease extremely when you select higher AA-modes, or a higher internal resolution?

currently i use 1x native resolution (640x528)
no change in speed when switched 2x (1280x1056)
10-17% speed loss on native 3x (1920x1580)

current no aa is used
no speed loss noticed when switched to 4x
20% speed loss when changed to 9x

EDIT:: there is a significant difference using 2x and 3x native resolutions

Whatever speed you get with 1x is the speed you will always have with that CPU. Getting a better video card will only allow you to raise the IR higher without losing speed.
