3x IR is what I use too, so +1 for luck.

Nice blog! I love reading about the challenges of emulating Gamecube and Wii systems and how you guys will sometimes stumble upon a solution or a clue that'll lead to a better understanding of a particular problem. I don't use the emulator much, but I do appreciate the teams work especially when it comes to those technical "aha!" moments. I bet it's really satisfying to unravel an issue that had been doggedly plaguing progress. Great job, guys!

Wow, I completely missed the MD5 Hash thing, even though I read commit changelogs regularly. Anyway, nice improvements and I really liked this new format of news (YAY!)

Awesome job guys!
Too bad my PC sucks and I can't play games at a reasonable speed (Wii ones) ![]() https://dolphin-emu.org/blog/2014/05/30/...-may-2014/ The May Dolphin Progress Report is live! Feel free to discuss this month's update below. 05-30-2014, 11:03 PM
I'm loving these updates, they give a very good overview of the progress made for those of us who aren't reading the notes for all the development versions of Dolphin or simply don't understand all of the technical terms that are used. You're doing a great job.

<irrelevant>Does it fix Mario Kart Wii ghosts? I honestly think TASes should not be considered valid if the ghost does not run on console.</irrelevant>

Progress is simply amazing especially audio looping with Zelda Ucode games and other fixes. Hard to think this emulator came this far, how many remember what it was like for a while after going open source? I do have screens somewhere or thought I did at least showing the graphics issues a lot of games had. I remember when audio in Zelda/Mario was but a dream and many thought there would never be audio due to Nintendo's weird and propriety ucode's.
These recent fixes are icing on the cake. Btw any idea if it's possible to restore performance to about where it was with older builds and DX9 cause this is a nice start. Off topic: Wish I had a working LGA1366 board to test with my i7. This C2D E7500 is limiting me performance wise. 05-31-2014, 02:05 PM
OGL is simply faster right now on any kind of modern computer. Bufferstorage on any modern NVIDIA card (4xx or newer) or AMD card (I think pretty much everything has pinned memory) plus all the optimizations of recent have made it much, much faster for most users.
There are very few games that run slower than 4.0 for me. |
