I'll never tell! I will give you a hint though: everything you need to guess what it is is in the image itself. :3

Looks like there are bananas in the screenshot.

Must be something with Super Monkey Ball. It couldn't be Donkey Kong as far as I now. I am not that well versed in the art of Super Monkey Ball through, so I don't know which exact level or title. Probably something from the Wii?

Yeah I know and I was ready to accept nothing was going to be changed to accommodate just me Tongue

Although the problem is solved with the new charts, as an user of stylus and the same css theme I homebrew my own solution: A complementary css theme that adds a blue, semitransparent aura to the old charts (which always were <img> inside <figure>)

JMC almost got it. It's Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, world 5 "Pirate's Ocean".

Frankly the bananas and the ring are a *huge* giveaway, so it wasn't a hard one to guess. I doubt anyone is going to get last months though!

It is a pain to setup a sensor bar with a laptop. It has to be inconveniently perched on top of the screen, ready to fall at the slightest perturbation. And it does not work so well either, because if you sit comfortably close to the screen, the desk will block the line of sight. Not to say, it is more bulk and weight to put in the bag when you move around, and one more gadget to set up and put away every time you play.

Would it be possible to use that clever trick of faking infrared data from gyro/accelerometer data with a real Wii+ controller? Or are the sensors too cheap and the drift too high?

Getting rid of the sensor bar would be so nice... I've tried with a Dualshock3 I had around, but was unable to make it work.

I did a quick test using DSU Client and it seems to work way better than what I expected. Basically, you pair your Wiimote to WiimoteHook, then use DSU Client in current Dolphin builds to talk with WiimoteHook and set up the emulated Wiimote. But, there's some caveats:
  • Your Wiimote must have Motion Plus (either built-in like on Wii Remote Plus or as an add-on like an old Wiimote + Motion Plus accessory)
  • You can't map real Nunchuk motion sensors to the emulated Nunchuk motion sensors that way (but it should be possible very soon, we currently have a PR adding this feature)
  • You'll need an extra button the Wiimote doesn't have to map the "Recenter" binding (I've assigned it to the home button and apart from needing to open/close the Home Menu overlay to recenter the cursor, works well)
  • Mapping emulated Wiimote rumble to the real Wiimote rumble connected on WiimoteHook is a bit finicky (DSU protocol doesn't expose rumble but WiimoteHook exposes a virtual XInput controller with rumble to workaround that)
  • If the game you're running needs any combination of extensions other than just a Wiimote or a Wiimote + Nunchuk, then you're screwed, as WiimoteHook seems to support only the Nunchuk

I might (or might not) set up a sub-page on the DSU Client guide detailing this special case in the future...

Is there any reason to use WiimoteHook over emulated/passthrough bluetooth?

Only if you don't have a sensor bar but still want to use the IR cursor regardless and only if the game you want to play that way doesn't need extensions other than the Nunchuk. Apart from that, directly connecting the Wiimotes to Dolphin still is easier to setup and less prone to problems...

That is a pretty funny workaround for not having a sensor bar.
