Still though, is the difference in RPM between 5400 and 7200 enough to warrant me spending 30$ more on a 2TB drive instead of getting that 3TB Hitachi?

Well yeah but for simply storing / reading files would it be that bad? I'm planning on having a SSD for my OS / Programs, and Dolphin would be on that while the game files would be on the other drive.
