Go for ATI 5850 (250$)if you have multiple displays or wait for Geforce300 series (presented today , out in 1 month maxi^^)

4gigs of Ram (80$)are fine with P55 motherboards (130$) and go for i5 750 (199)^^

keep your case and you 'll be fine ^^

Is the Phenom X2 550 good?
I thinking about getting that cpu, it seems like a good choice; the possibility to unlock to a quad makes it seem a bit better.
To tell you the truth, any cpu change is an upgrade! My processor is way outdated.
Would there maybe another suggested processor about $20 more, (i am on a budget).

I will tell you this go for AMD Athlon 2 X4 620 ,in terns of performance it s the same tha a phenom 2 x4 810 , and it s roughly 100$ ^^

I heard something about the phenom having L3 cache, but that processor doesn't Tongue

Is the L3 worth it?

"A few overclockers have found recent success turning an Athon II X4 620 or 630 CPU into a fully-fledged Phenom II X4 just by activating ACC in the BIOS. Instead of a core being unlocked, the ACC is capable of activating the 6MB of L3 cache turned off on the chip. Here's the thing, if you have the older Deneb based processor... you might be in luck. Propus, has this cache physically missing and as such it's just not possible to unlock it."

The L3 ? depends on what do you use your pc for ?^^

Na i don't have the older Deneb Sad

Basically my pc is used/going to be used for, Casual-Mediocre gaming & Dolphin.
What exactly are the benefits of L3? If it doesn't have many advantages its ok.
Apparently certain motherboards don't have quad support, i just may be unlucky Sad

(Where do i go to find out?)

Also how do you feel about this Psu?
My old 300W might bottleneck everything, if not start-up at all.

does your mobo support that cpu? what gpu are you gonna have in it? what mobo? more info is needed for a psu choice
