Im going to overclock the i7 to around 4.0 GHz. That should help I suppose.

You could equally take an E0 920 and oc it to 4ghz and it would perform IDENTICALLY to the extreme.

you guys talk like 4 ghz is easy with i7.
funny that most dont manage to get this with air-cooling. i7 just doesn't oc as easy as c2d/q, you have to live with that. maybe the new ones will do better, but who knows.

It isn't easy but it's attainable.... Paying an extra $600 to reach it is a bit OTT though

Voltage. Its also about voltage.

No it isn't. It's mainly about cooling. Anyways I have 1250 watts of power. I don't get why some of you think overclocking is difficult...

I dare you to increase voltage (>0.3) on a cpu without even touching the clock speeds, come back in 6 months and tell us if it's still working.
