yes thats why they won't have 2 cores doing the same thing

It's just that this approach isn't suitable to EVERYTHING computer related and isn't a viable solution for some software. Especially emulation software like Dolphin, PCSX2 and Yabause. There are MULTIPLE chips being emulated all at once and the state of each chip has to be monitored in order to ensure proper emulation and that they are running in sync as they would do on a real console. 07-12-2009, 07:58 AM
i was about to buy a quaq core but now i will not

find me a multithreaded ppc emulator to x86 and then dolphin will use quad cores. Until then, stop asking for quad core. It's very annoying.

We arent asking for quad core were talking about how dolphin is not working or will never work like this... plz read all the posts before you yell at everyone here 07-12-2009, 10:50 AM

Thread topic naming fail. I actually thought someone had optimized Dolphin to use four processor cores. Please don't scare us like that.
On another note. Doesn't dolphin only have three threads anyway? In which case quad-core optimization isn't even possible?

Most likely having a 3rd is pointless. Most of the work is done rendering. One core alone can take care of CPU and Audio, while the other takes care of Video which is the hardest part.
If you guys take a look at the different Wii and GC games, you'll notice that the slowests are the more graphical consuming ones. If graphics wouldn't be a big trouble, 95% of the games that run would run at fullspeed. |
