That's less than half of what it should be running, and that's in the less demanding parts of one of the least demanding games. 01-19-2017, 11:10 PM

It's currently running at ~0.5 FPS, but I'm sure I can speed it up to maybe 2 FPS once I get the ARM JIT working. Now we just need to find someone interested in optimizing it. JoeRaptorisback, do you know anyone? I can't wrap my head around assembly and our last ARM developer stopped contributing to Dolphin after he got out of jail. The code is in my private Git repo (it's a bit ugly), but I can record a video when I get the time. Let me know if you're interested! Goodness! You're ions ahead of me! I thought I was lone walking in this thread! In that case and in all seriousness,oh my god, please. Show me the code! Because i'm totally interested. Have you contacted anyone at www.wololo.com yet? If anything i'd contact them as well because most of the devs are over there. They're gonna flip over their chairs when they hear about this! They have previously hosted a emulator competition. I'd like to contribute to your port as well so, hit me up when there's time! Ha ha! Dolphin team here I come! 01-20-2017, 02:18 AM

It's not very encouraging at these speeds and I'm kinda stuck. I was hoping you'd know someone who could cast some magic to make the Vita more powerful? Ok here it goes: mumbo jumbo switcheroo switcheree and.... there: Now it can run gamecube games just fine. No need to thank me, i've done my part... 01-20-2017, 02:37 AM
No, the Switch can't run GameCube games just fine. (But it's definitely better suited than the Vita)

I think the comparison was because Switch is rumored to use the same SoC from Shield TV, and, well, that's the most powerful "mobile" device capable of running Dolphin nowadays. Whether it'll run games full speed, that's another story (hint: it can handle only some lightweight games at the moment)...

Because i'm going to start writing code on the Vita SDK tonight. First thing I gotta come up with is a GUI. 01-20-2017, 10:57 PM

Now that Dolphin on Vita is a proven concept, who's going to start cracking eggs to make alpha builds with me? |
my point has been proven without me moving even a finger!....Not counting keystrokes of course. EDIT: Nobody ? Oh boy! More C for me! ........But seriously, anyone wanna help? Dolphin Team, why not avoid leaving me hanging on this well asserted high five i'm about to give to you? ____________________________________________________________________________________________| [I'll send my first git revision when I have time.] EDIT: How do I post git revisions on the downloads list again? 01-21-2017, 09:07 AM

We all agree that the Vita is way too slow to run Dolphin at playable speeds. (01-21-2017, 08:50 AM)JoeRaptorisback Wrote: EDIT: How do I post git revisions on the downloads list again? You don't. Not even those of us who have merge rights put our own revisions there directly. If you want a change to be included in Dolphin, make a PR at https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pulls, and it will be considered for merging. By the way, why did you type "EDIT:" three times despite seemingly editing your post zero times? It seems like you deleted large parts of your post while I was typing my reply, so here it is for posterity: Spoiler: |
