Hello All,

As always when ever a new CPU come out hopes for a better and enjoyment dolphin experience on mobil phones gose up(Especially Snapdragon ones ).

So now SD845 is out and i have been trying to see how good is it, Especially when Qualcomm this time put more focuse than ever on the GPU side.

I have not put my hand on one of them but I've found a channel on youtube who does.

https://youtu.be/H-snhaReFXk

Enjoy guys.

*Note : I don't own the channel and i don't have any relations to it. I've seen it then decided to share it that's all.

**Note: SD835 for me was good enough to play most GC games and i didn't have issues in most of the games , and the issues i have in other games was graphical issue not frame rates, So SD845 absolutely will be an improvement especially for Wii games but i think it's time to focus on how to improve dolphin it self rather than how powerful the CPUs are.

Glad to be part of this fourm and family.

This is cool. It looks like most gamecube games run well. Which is good enough for me. My dream of Tales of Symphonia,Twin Snakes and SSB Melee on the go is almost realized. Next year should be the moment of truth.

Glad to be part of this fourm and family.

1. For Android, we need to focus on the DRIVER since it is not supporting things NEEDED by Dolphin to run fast and without glitches... And since the driver is made by Qualcomm we can do nothing to fix that, SO go bother Qualcomm FIRST
2. IF a new driver ever gets made for your device that supports everything Dolphin needs, THEN you must go bother the manufacturer of your device, so nothing we can do there.
3. IF it still doesn't work after these 2 have done their thing... THEN come to us and file a bug report.

As was stated before, the Dev Team isn't adding workarounds or Hacks for different devices on different drivers which might need them,... It would become an unmaintainable mess, and what works for 1 device might not work for the same device on a different driver.

Thanks for the comment ♡

Every year we say tge next year will be the year of Moment.
Believe me my friend with the release of SD835 no need to wait for more processers, I can play Twin Snake 30FPS almost consistent but you need to tweak the settings ,always start with lowest settings then go up till you find that sweet spot that gives you the best resolution with the least loss of FPS  (I'm Biggest fan of MGS series). For me i use HD resolution with no Anti-alise and i can get better FPS if i went to Native GC resolution.

What I'm trying to say here is  , from now on we are in the moment of truth but we need now to focuse how to imporve the emulator it self. Like PCs they have reached the moment of truth long ago the only things improving right now for them is the emulator it self.

And yes Twin snake on the go somthing i never had dream about ♡

 Hey there ,

1-As far as i know Adreno GPU does not need any driver updates unlike MALI GPU the one who does.

Read the below quote

Please ask Samsung / ARM for EXT_buffer_storage support!

2- Yes agree if there is any updates absolutely Samsung who is responsible.

3-My post have never been about filing a bug report or asking the team for workaround, it is even not about drivers or anything else it is simply showing how well SD845 can handle Dolphin and for me it handles it very well and even playable .

Thanks

Both GPU's need driver updates to have all the functions available that Dolphin needs, currently none of them do that, to find that out just search on this forum about how many games just blackscreen or are utter slow or have huge game breaking graphical glitches. As long as only 50% of the library is unplayable, 48% of that will be due to driver issues and not due to issues with Dolphin (pulled numbers out of my ass).

As long as you need to decrease the Emulated clockspeed (which WILL introduce glitches someway or another) to play at fullspeed, Android is not ready for Dolphin emulation.

Sorry, I got triggered by your mention (rephrased) "Now it is time for Dolphin to improve" which is utter BS because on PC it already runs basically everything and the codebase for the emulation is shared with Android so any issue's anyone is facing in games is because of bad drivers or user error. What can improve in Dolphin's Android port is the configuration options and menus, which recently have been added and they will get better and improved over time.

It's okay bro as long as you got my point.

Improving does not only mean driver it can be in UI , Hacks and shader processing anything that can be done.

For me 90% of the games i tried worked graphically well except for RE4 it gave me black screen.
Anyway, thanks for your informative reply.

I usually don't have fixed settings, i try playing with settings on every game i play till i find the best settings for that specific game.

Small tip may be helpfull , close all the applications running in the background or frontend and also don't use dolphin if your phone is hot already from previous intensive workload.

*What i figured out that phones are not ready yet to emulate higher than the native resolution of the GC with any anti-alising.
So depending on the game it's better just to give up one of them and some games will ask you to give up both.

Hope i help a bit.

Just because Dolphin runs on Windows it doesn't mean it can't improve further for Android, it's just that nobody can/wants to put in the time and effort to improve it, except a few people.
