Dolphin on Pentium 4

So I recently tried PCSX2 to play some of my beloved classics, only to have it running at 10 frames per second. I have a Pentium 4 2.80Ghz processor, with a Geforce 8400 GS graphics card. I am wondering if Dolphin will run any better, for Gamecube games. I do not plan on playing any Wii games.

Your processor is not strong enough to get games to run at full speed. Your best bet is getting a good dual core PC with a processor speed of 2.5GHz or Higher.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1
CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked)
GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1)
RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333

Okie, thank you for the answer. But until I can do that, do you know about what frame rate I would run at? As long as its at least 50%, I can settle for that.

You may be able to get 50% in some games, but you'll just have to try and see what happens. It depends on the game.

Ok let a singlecore user answer that for you! You can play at half speed or more depending on what game or configure for the game also disable dual core cuz it gives you more frames like games Super Mario Galaxy but thats going off topic I can give you my setting if you like might. But might run faster then my CPU seeing its a higher clocking then more but your P4 might have HT so might speed up more faster im not sure but hell give it a shot but might get half speed or more but slower in some games.
PC Specs:
Nvidia 8400 GS (256Mb) *Overclocked*
1GB of DDR2 RAM
AMD Athlon 64 3800+ 2.40Ghz (Singlecore)
Windows Vista Basic 32-bit

I laughed as soon as I read the thread title.

Admin89 is right you can definitely run 2d games like Muramasa (which is a great game, btw) just fine even on a P4 given that you don't have some integrated graphics card.

Also on games like NSMB you'll be likely to get at least 70-80% speed with framelimit off. In general, avoid the full 3d games like twilight princess, mario galaxy, wii sports resort, because it will be unenjoyable at about 5-6fps. Lighter games and wiiware stuff will work fine most of the time though
