Fascinating thread guys. Keep us posted on these developments. I was leaning towards getting a shield but damn those Snapdragon 800 specs are killer, and will be in the new Sony Xperia Z Ultra and Galaxy Note III, so I dunno anymore....

Launched on Nvidia Shield dolphin-master-4.0-415.apk (date of build 23.nov.2013)
Unfortunately the picture is quite different than on other devices. Instead of a picture, just a set of polygons. Control buttons are not completely. Some buttons and D-pad are not mappable. In Attachment some of in game screenshots of Super Mario Sunshine, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. 11-25-2013, 01:47 PM
Any traces of Nvidia Shield support have actually been completely removed from the OpenGL backend as of earlier today. As perfect as the thing looked for GameCube emulation, the GPU just doesn't have hardware/driver support for numerous features Dolphin requires.

It's the hardware that is the issue, the drivers are about as good as you can get when working around the hardware.

I thought the Shield was as strong as the galaxy siv or maybe stronger. Is it the lack of ES 3 that kills it chances for GC emulation? I thought Nvidia was one of the best GPU making company.

Nvidia Tegra 4 will eventually gain support for our OpenGL renderer, but in order to do that, we'll need someone with a device to make all the changes required to make it compatible. Again, I don't have enough money to just go out all willy nilly and buying one, so unless someone donates a Tegra 4 device, there isn't anything that can currently be done. WEll, i got it, but it's just to bad i know zip about coding :/
