I already read that it need special Dev for Tegra 4 because it does support full OpenGL like PC. And since Shiled will be the first and cheapest Tegra 4 device also the best because it has REAL controls. I think Dolphin will be better on Shield that ANY other Android Device. Is a real Android portable.

I think you guys need to give Tegra 4 priority.

–We already know all of what you're telling us.
–Shield isn't even being sold yet, be patient.
–The only dev (AFAIK) who's willing to get one and do any devwork with it can't afford one out-of-pocket, so unless someone buys him one or he sets up a donation drive, no Dolphin for Shield.

Thanks Paulda for the overview! However, there is one question I have of my own about Dolphin and Shield. Is there anyway that Dolphin can be made compatible with Shields streaming abilities? Have devs talked about that at all? Im guessing we probably will have to wait for the Shield to come out to have a definite answer, but im just a bit curious.

Devs haven't talked about Shield's streaming stuff at all. Are you talking about the PC-to-Shield streaming? That'd take quite a bit of effort to support, if it's even possible. If you're talking about the Shield-to-TV streaming, that probably wouldn't even require any changes to Dolphin, AFAIK.

Yeah, im talking PC to Shield. I know that Keplar GPU's encode and stream to shield at the hardware level, from what I could tell when Nvidia talked about it. Im just wondering how people go about getting support for their applications, since all nvidia says that certain "Steam Games will be supported". They don't really talk about how to get a game or program compatible with the feature. It is still in beta, but I just feal they are shooting themselves in the foot for not opening this up for wide access.

Thanks for that! I just want you guys give priority to Shield(Tegra 4 devices). I will buy it ONLY for this Emulator. It will be so awesome!

BTW you might give a look to this

Total fucking waste of money. It likely won't be able to run any notable games at full speed, and even super-low-end games like Crazy Taxi will take quite a while to get running at full speed. The ARM JIT is still woefully incomplete and will be slow and buggy for quite a while, drivers for GLES3 devices are currently problematic and full of bugs that the renderer needs to work around, and on top of this there's mountains of Android UI left to build. And there's literally only one guy doing all this ARM/Android/GLES3 work, and he plans on leaving Dolphin entirely soon. By the time Dolphin for Android is worth using, the Shield's already gonna be vastly outdated. Don't get too optimistic.

(And yes, I friggin' know about Android 4.3. That doesn't help us much, it just means more people are gonna have GLES3 drivers and they're all gonna come in and whine about the buggy GLES3 renderer/drivers.)

Oh thanks for that then. Can't he get a lil help from other Dolphin Devs?

Possibly. Nobody's really helping him out, other than one person giving him advice for the OpenGL stuff and one or two other people occasionally cleaning up his code.

That's right. Nvidia Tegra 4 will eventually gain support for our OpenGL renderer, but in order to do that, we'll need someone with a device to make all the changes required to make it compatible. Again, I don't have enough money to just go out all willy nilly and buying one, so unless someone donates a Tegra 4 device, there isn't anything that can currently be done.
