Dolphin on macOS mojave crashes and has trouble connected wiimotes

I am having trouble connecting my Wiimotes to dolphin 5.0-9531 on my mac. They either donèt connect, or dolphin crashes when they do. Continuous scanning just crashes dolphin instantly

Any suggestions?

I have basically the same problem with dolphin version 5.0-10839. Occasionally I can get it to connect if I try a bunch of times and get lucky, but generally it will fail to connect, or crash.

Some more information to possibly help diagnose the issue:

Today's my first day using a wiimote with Dolphin, and, as of today, I have a new problem in that any time I am running Dolphin *without* connecting the Wiimote, when I go to quit Dolphin, it freezes and I have to force quit.

When the Wiimote is connected OR bluetooth is turned off, Dolphin closes out cleanly.
