Hi, I have a Xiaomi mi max 2 and the frame rate is terrible for games like super Mario sunshine with FPS varying from 7-11, I have seen it running super Mario sunshine really well on YouTube courtesy of techutopia, I have tried the recommended settings but no better, The battery doesn't get over 30 degrees so think there's plenty of performance that could be unleashed. The specs are PLATFORMoid 7.1.1 (Nougat)
Chipset Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625
CPU Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53
GPU Adreno 506. Should it run ok it could it run ok? Can anyone help please
Cheers

Your phone's SoC is too weak.

Most of the android tech youtubers are full of crap. Sorry.

Are you sure he was using the same phone as you?  Usually his vids use phones with Snapdragon 820 or better chips.  Anyway, like Helios said, your phone's chipset is not quite enough for decent dolphin performance.  Though, I'm surprised framerates are that low.  Try using an older build of dolphin(some where around 5.0-3xxx) and see if performance improves.

I would suggest any phone with at least a Snapdragon 820 would be a good place to start.  Something like the first gen Google Pixel or the OnePlus 3 would be a great place to start.  The LG G6 is another one if you need a user replaceable battery. And all of these options can be had for 300 US dollars or less.

Yeah when I bought my phone I didn't know GameCube emulation was possible on a phone but I have seen super Mario running 20 FPS on YouTube but ibI' bought a god win which looks like it emulates a lot of games well
