Humbug. I have tried your suggestion and attempted to update directx, but it seems that "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted". I am instructed to "Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valid".
I'm sure I sound like a complete idiot in asking this, and I'm truly sorry, but what in the Gaia's great sopping ass of a world does it want me to do? 11-05-2009, 01:07 PM
the first I'm seeing that so i don't know....

Right, here it is: I've managed to update to directx 9.0 and the d3d plugin is showing up and working. Naturally, I'm presented with an entirely new error: "posmtx not supported correctly:", followed by a succession of numbers 32, 36 and 28. Any idea what this might mean? I get as far as the "please ensure the wiimote is securely fastened to your wrist" or whatever it is before this happens, and then the fps drops from 35-ish to about 0.33.
Suggestions? 11-06-2009, 06:53 AM
now you need the graphics card get past this because your using intel integrated graphics.
or get an older rev like about the 25xx you will get this message in every other rev higher than 25xx. i used to use rev 2536. 11-06-2009, 12:57 PM
Okay. So, basically, then, I may just as well get a card that supports OpenGL 2.1 and forget about the d3d plugin? Is that what I'm understanding here? I'd be perfectly willing to do so, but I want to be sure that's what you mean before I go and spend money.
Thanks again! 11-07-2009, 06:41 AM
Aha. Well, there we are; I did say that I was the very newbiest of all the newbs. I went to Best Buy today to investigate the possibility of an OpenGL-supportive graphics card and was presented with a hockey-pad-sized monstrosity which convinced me immediately that something was severely wrong with this plan on the most elementary level. Here it is: I have a laptop. No new video card for me. So... You were saying something about an older Dolphin build with a stable d3d plugin?

...I don't suppose you have a link? I was having difficulty finding a place to actually download the build you describe.
