This is confusing... So assuming "doesnt install" means something is wrong, why would you expect the controller would work, If it didn't install right int he first place?

ulao: "Doesn't install" just means it's a portable app with no installer, which current Dolphin builds are. Means nothing's wrong there.

fiercedeity316: SDL has been removed on Windows (for good reasons!), and you probably had your 'pad set up with SDL. Choose the XInput device in the GCPad/emulated Wii Remote "Devices" box.

Also, since I spent the time to find the link before rereading your post and figuring out the actual issue, install these again, just for fun. (Also install everything ever from Windows Update, it's useful.) http://download.microsoft.com/download/6/9/4/69446ACF-E625-4CCF-8F56-58B589934CD3/Xbox360_64Eng.exe

Thanks for the reply but how exactly do i change it? If i try changing it through its name on the list of devices i will press okay but it will just go back to the way it was. But my controller wont even show up in the list unless i load the saved contol settings and if i switch it to keyboard it wont be on the list anymore. It shows my controller is xinput not dcl. Ill try your download next time my computer gets internet and let you now if it works.

Chose your gamepad in the "Device" list ("XInput/0/etc") AND reconfigure your controls.

Well... when I go to choose devices it only shows my keyboard controls. But I have saved configuration of my Xbox controls so when I load that up it still doesnt work so maybe I can just input the controls again so I try and when I try to change a control and press a button it doesn't do Anything.

i installed it and it asked to to restart my computer to take effect so i did. but when i try to open the program i get an error:
the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)
so i tried to see if it would detect my controls again but nope.
