If you made the save state after your audio crashed, then that save state is probably going to "remember" that the audio crashed. Remember, save states are basically snapshots of the emulator at any given time, that includes any bugs or errors that happen during emulation.
Your best bet is to load the save state, then save normally (as if you were playing on a real console). Restart the game, then load the normal save file.
