Dolphin Netplay issue with hotspot connection

Good day,

(Pre-PS: I have searched the Forum but couldnt find a thread with the same problem like I have. If I overlooked that, I apologize deeply, and would be glad if you could refer me to it)

I am having strange connection issues, that I tried to troubleshoot, but I can not make out the problem, so I hoped someone here can help me.

I want to play Super Smash Brothers Melee via Netplay with friends.

First of all: It works fine on my PC and laptop, with normal Connection (Ethernet, Wifi etc), and I have played plenty netplay before.

Now I am in the situation currently, that my home internet is not the best one, but my mobile connection is decently fast (Ping 20-25) and I have 18 GB volume.
So I figured I could play netplay over hotspotconnection from my phone, on my laptop. However, I always get the error that I could not connect. My laptop via hotspot finds the host (he recognizes a wrong Room-ID), but can not connect into the lobby.

I have used the hotspot before to play Starcraft 2, League of Legends, browse different Websites, take calls etc etc.
Dolphin is the first occurance for me where it doesn't work.
Anyone here got a clue what the problem could be? Does Dolphin need some special authentification that is normally blocked on phones? Or has it to do with NAT or other protocols?

Sadly I am no expert in this field (I study computer science since 2 years, but that didnt prepare me for this yet), I know a bit stuff here and there from experience, but thats pretty much it. So any help would be appreciated and I would be super happy.

Thanks in advancement for your time.

Yours sincerely.

Some connections just don't work with traversal IIRC. You could try upnp.
I wouldn't be surprised if your mobile connection still has more lag spikes than your home internet.
Also, does this happen on the latest Dev build? FM 5.9 (assuming that is what you mean by 5.9) is not supported.

Yeah, cellular internet connections are running on Carrier Grade NAT, which makes NAT traversal impossible. You'll have to ask your host to port forward and use direct connection.
