Also, the way these technologies work is they make all the displays look like one giant virtual display to the OS at a really low level. To hack it you would need custom drivers and to know how they are structured.

How did you get SSBB to render all that extra scenery on the sides? When I tried Dolphin across three screens in eyefinity it just filled the left and right screens with black bars.

Wow, I thought that widescreen hack just made 4:3 games 16:9. I tried SSBB across the two screens I'm using now, and it works great.

After playing a little more widescreen MKWii, I think I'll have to get a three screen setup together again. Even though the information overlay gets stretched, it's still pretty nice to see the whole track when you're coming off a jump. Thanks Rachel. I bet there are lots of other games that could benefit from 3 monitors.

Wow, yeah that's some pretty dope setup.
Really neat to see that 'fisheye' view in mario kart.

Are there any cheats or hacks that place the camera at the character's head? So you can still see the rest of the kart? Kinda like a realistic view thing.
That would be sweet with this setup.

Nope, it supports any arbitrary AR.

I'd like to try a cockpit view too. The camera would just have to go forward and down so it was about where the characters eyes are. It would be like a completely different game. The only trouble would be that you couldn't see your blue sparks unless you looked behind you.

I wish that instead of the fisheye effect, you could get a more panoramic view. Then you could set up something ridiculous like this:

and physically turn your head to see behind you.

I think the most practical use of multiple screens in Mario Kart is for 2-4 players. Instead of split screen, each player can have their own monitor.

That's it- 'cockpit view', thank you.

Hmm.. maybe make some sort of mod or cheat to display the sparks in front of the kart instead? Would that work? I feel like it would work just fine.

Actually, A while ago, me and a friend tried playing splitscreen GC games on separate monitors. I just stretched the dolphin windowed mode over the multimonitor setup.
I set the windows up in the windows resolution manager thing so that windows thought one screen was on top of the other. Worked perfectly like that.

Edit: lol! Just noticed they've got the joystick strapped to the office chair. A true flight sim fanatic.

I just discovered free look mode, and that you actually can get a cockpit view in Mario Kart. I first tried to put the camera right in Mario's eyes, but his nose and hat block the view, and you can't see much at all during a wheelie. I moved it a little in front of his face and adjusted the angle so you can just see the top of the front wheel during a wheelie. The lack of blue sparks isn't too much of a problem since it does make a noise, but it would be nice to have a boost gauge with a blue/orange light and a speedometer in the HUD. The gauge on the bike is non functional, and impossible to see while keeping the track in view. For some reason the POW block notification isn't visible in this view, and it's hard to get the timing right just by the sound.

Yeah, that's what I did for two players too. The map becomes useless during split screen though, and takes up too much room in widescreen. Do you know of a way to get rid of it?
