i downloaded dolphin for some time to play SSBB, Zoids vs. 3 and Zoids full metal crash and it used to run just fine, SSB had an almost perfect speed and both Zoids ran fine except for zoids vs. 3 which had massive frame drops when there was too much stuff on screen.

But all of a sudden the emulator had a drastic speed drop i can't get past the 10/20FPS and i can't seem to increase the speed, i've tried everything i've delete the emu folder and re downloading, i've messed with the settings, i'm starting to think it may have something to do with the computer itself and not the emulator.

My system is an LG Laptop, an Intel Core 2Duo CPU T9400 clocked at 2.53HMz 2,53ghZ WITH 4GB ram the GFX card is a GeForce 9600M GS i'm running Vista 32Bits

Have you been updating your graphics card driver recently (or any driver)? It could be due to the new driver that's causing the slowdown.

If you haven't, you might want to check your laptop's temperature. I heard that overheating can reduce performance.
Crappy desktop: Dell Inspiron 580
CPU - Intel Core i5-650 @ 3.2 GHz (Stock)
GPU - Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti 2GB GDDR5
RAM - 8GB DDR3
OS - Windows 7 64-bit

Dolphin 3.0 - 202 dirty

I will try that, if my memory isn't failing i believe the only drivers i've been updating regularly are the GFX and sound drivers and device manager says the drivers are up to date, i will try re installing the drivers.

And i will run a check on the temperature as well.

Ok i got the Core temp results:
TJ. Max: 105ºC,
Core #0: 51ºC, Min - 51ºC, Max 52ºC Load goes up to 80%
Core #1: 51ºC, Min - 51ºC, Max 52ºC Load goes up to 80%

With emulator Running i get:
TJ. Max: 105ºC,
Core #0: 51ºC, Min - 51ºC, Max 52ºC Load goes up to 100%
Core #1: 51ºC, Min - 51ºC, Max 52ºC Load goes up to 100%

Sounds like i found the culprit Undecided

It doesn't stay there it fluctuates between a really low percentage like 3% 5% and then climbs to 80% to descend back to 10/5%

But once i run a game in dolphin it stays at 100%

jeah but why did it climb to 80%
that sounds like background programm that causes the slowdowns in dolphin
