Dolphin keeps crashing on me and I'm not sure why

I recently started using Dolphin, with little success. The only game I've been trying to play is The Legend Of Zelda : Wind Waker, but either the game itself freezes with a black or gray screen, or Dolphin itself crashes. I have tried multiple settings configurations from this forum and other sources with no luck. I'm running it on Windows 8 and my PC hardware includes a i7-4770k, GTX770 and 32Gb of RAM. I've also tried Dolphin 3.5, 4.0, and 4.0.2, but I keep getting these same issues. Any help would be great.

The problem you describe is well-known. Try some of the solutions described here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=The_Legend_of_Zelda:_The_Wind_Waker#Black.2FGray_Screens If you still get issues, could you post screenshots of your Dolphin settings?

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not really having issues with the black/gray screens since I started using 4.0, I probably should have mentioned that, but I Dolphin is still randomly crashing on me.

Try to disable OpenMP. Set Texture Cache to "Fast". And enable EFB Access. Basically don't use any hack Tongue .
If it still crashing I suggest to try to redump your game

Any reason you're sticking with D3D9? Try one of the newest dev builds, and use the OpenGL backend with Vertex streaming hack

Why would you have disable EFB access to CPU and ignore format changes checked? That will break a lot of games.

I have both disabled in 4.0.2 while running Mario Kart DD, Luigi´s Mansion, Mario Party 4, 5 and 6, and Mario Sunshine. And they don´t look like they´re broken...

Now, if you´re referring to Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, then your point is true.

ADD: BTW I was using both D3D9 and D3D11. Haven´t tried OGL yet.

I agree with EFB Access but very few games need EFB Format Changes so this option should be checked for most games

I started using OpenGL and haven't experienced a crash yet. Thanks for the advice everyone!
