Here is an odd question - how do you use Windows 8? Can you just disable that Metro overlay, and have it act like Windows 7? What does Windows 8 do to make my Windows experience better?

Sidenote, do you know how many programs I use to make Windows 7 useable? I've found a few that can do a lot on their own, but let's see. I use 7 Taskbar Tweaker, gets rid of the bottom right show desktop button as well as the right click menu on taskbar items. It also doesn't group the items down there PROPERLY.

I have a program called Classic Shell which fixes Windows Explorer, so it goes "Desktop -> My Computer -> C Drive" now, instead of the random total jibberish that is a group of floating options like "Favourites" "My Network" etc. As well as a bunch of random changes to it.

I put the Quick Launch box back and I turn off transparency. I'm sure I do more as well. And THEN I get to Firefox, which requires just as many changes so it looks like Firefox 3 again, with Firefox 2's URL bar.

So the prospect of Windows 8 is, well, daunting. More things to revert on every install.

We get used to things we don't like at first mostly because they are shoved down our throats (schools, businesses, etc. adopting) or we want to keep up with the times and not be left behind.

OS: Windows 7 - x64

The difference is that computers are good, but windows 8 is bad (unless you own a tablet PC).
OS: Windows 10 64 bit Professional
CPU: Intel i5 4670K @3.4GHz... for now @4.6GHz with a quick and dirty (yet stable) OC. May get faster in a bit before the end of time.

GPU: Radeon Vega 56
