I believe it only costs $30, so I'd say go for it as long as you don't mind all of the new changes. Also, it boots really fast

Yes, it runs great! But if you have an ATI card make sure you get the drivers from amd.com, as the ones included with win 8 are terrible.
Checkout my latest project ( it is a program that downloads and compiles dolphin on mac and linux now): http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu-downloader (It's unofficial and maintained by me, not the dolphin dev team) 08-18-2012, 09:36 AM

The only person I know with a positive opinion of windows 8 never used XP or windows 7, except in school (where important options are limited). Basically he likes it because he's only used every other windows, and not the good ones in between.

I think everyone is whining too much about W8 changes. Of course it is bad and gay and all, but everyone always whine a lot at the release candidate and say they will not use it but when it gets released everybody just ends up getting used to it and start throwing dollars at Microsoft. It's like the new MS Office layout (2007 and later) everybody complains at first but ends up using it and now nobody talks about it so much anymore.
You'll see everybody is gonna use it. People care for peed and stability, everything else (like idiotic touch UI with its fake multitasking) they learn to ignore.
