Thumbs Up
Hi, now are new mobiles for example :

xiaomi note pro  with snapdragon 810,   a very easy question ,  adreno drivers have been improved??? , or snpadragon 800/801/805/  in compare with 810  is nothing different because 810 are using older drivers ??.

Or only  with a tablet or smartphone with nvidia x1 perhaps the emulator will run well ??? .

Regards

Snapdragon 810 has the best chance with Dolphin for the Snapdragon SoCs.
It has the newest video drivers, which all S810 devices on the market should be running >= v102 drivers when they come to market. Which will render everything correctly. The performance still won't be the best because Qualcomm doesn't support extensions that the K1/X1 have to speed up graphics emulation, but whatever.
One concern is that currently OpenGL ES 3.1 + AEP hasn't been tested on Snapdragons, because it's just impossible to get your hands on one that supports these features. So potentially Dolphin could auto enable some new features and be broken due to it. These have been tested on the K1 and shown to work very well there, but since we've had troubles in the past with Qualcomm's video drivers breaking things, I'm sure it'll break things again. Of course, as soon as I get a Adreno 4xx device that supports GLES3.1+AEP, then I can test and workaround all the issues. I'm just waiting for a Snapdragon 810 phone to come out so I can buy it.

It also has Cortex-A57s, which allow it to run the AArch64 recompiler core. Which as of right now is faster than the ARMv7 recompiler in almost every regard. But of course the new architecture brings its own quirks in the recompiler. This will take time to fix, but I'm spending more time on this new recompiler than the old one now. So it'll be fixed quicker.

So would you predict 810 > K1 or no?

Lol no.  Not even remotely possible with those garbage drivers.  Plus the 810 has confirmed heat issues (which is always an issue with them.  Just moreso this time)

Supposedly the new Adreno drivers instantly crash under Dolphin.
I haven't a device to test it yet.

Well if we're reviving this thread then I'll pitch in by wondering whether the 810 really brings improvements,  or if we'll need to wait for the 820 for a chip that doesn't throttle.  Currently I can't imagine the 810 doing well when it crushes under constant high cou usage.

I was thinking to buy a zte nubia z9 max or wait for another smartphone better than it. Dolphin only run well in nvidia, but nvidia k1 ara proyect is far...... , and a nvidia x1 smartphone .... it is a dream.
