You wont get much help by advertising the fact that you downloaded the game Sad

It's probably not compatible with Dolphin yet, you can try playing on an actual Wii or Gamecube..

Owait, I forgot these cheap ass pirates don't actually own the actual system or games they are emulating. In that case, go out and buy a GC or a Wii, the game you are trying to emulate and have fun playing. A Wii costs $200 and a Gamecube costs even less at about $20 - $40, the game can likely be picked up in a bargain bin for a few bucks. Stop being cheap and lazy, emulation is not meant to get out of buying the actual system and games.

It's fools like you that give emulation a bad name, and makes the general public believe that emulation is equal to piracy. Pirates like you are responsible for this misconception and tarnishing something as great as the emulation scene. Angry

Your image could also be corrupted, another downside to illegally downloading copyrighted material and not dumping it yourself. It's not easy to troubleshoot issues, when the actual problem can reside with the quality of the disc image itself. Most release groups, often amateurs, tend to dump games incorrectly and circulate corrupted copies of games around the web. There was such an issue with certain warazed copies of FF7, and only existed with the warezed copies of FF7 that were incorrectly dumped, that froze at a certain part of the game. Because this issue was unique to pirated copies that were circulating, anyone that requested help with this particular issue had their threads closed as it was deemed they were using a pirated copy of the game.

Or perhaps he downloaded it despite owning it because it's easier than making the image yourself? I certainly did, and am having the same problem despite using several different .gcms. Fairly certain not all of them will be corrupt...

*facepalm*

It's also illegal, and an emulator that plays copyrighted games doesn't need that kind of attention. This forum also prohibits anyone from mentioning that they download games, pretty much earns everyone an instant perma-ban who makes mention of downloading games.

And yes, if you download a game there's an increased chance that you'll wind up with a bad image than if you had properly ripped the game yourself. It's already happened quite a few times with not only Dolphin but other emulators as well. It's not exactly hard to rip a game the legal way, just need a homebrew enabled Wii or a compatible DVD drive to use Rawdump/Freedump, then it's as simple as inserting the game to extract the image.

Unless you have a fast connection, it will be faster to extract the game. On my connection it takes me me a while to download any file that exceeds 1GB, I could spend a few days trying to download any file greater than 4 GB - 5GB compared to 1 - 2 hours that it would take me to rip an image of the game off of my disc.

Pretty sure it's just as legal to download a disc image of a game you already own the disc of as it is to rip it, but given that it's apparently a bannable offense to discuss I'll drop the issue.

It isn't, go look up copyright law. You would be downloading someone else's copy, you are only entitled to an archival copy of the physical media that you own. Wink
