Quote:Fwiw, could you do another small test for me? Do you spot any difference whatsoever between using 2xIR with 4xSSAA and 4xIR with no SSAA?

I was actually trying to test that when i noticed that 4x IR was clearly causing it to run at 1x. Why don't you put in error message in the default of the switch statement to catch stuff like that?

Anyways, now that it's fixed I'll get on it.....eventually. I'll probably do it tomorrow. If not you'll have to wait a week due to thanksgiving (american holiday).

@AnyOldName3

D3d9 doesn't support MSAA on offscreen render targets. Which we need to emulate efb copies.

Quote:I'd have thought that it would be easier to start from scratch with a better system than to hunt for a tiny bug which no one can find

Are you suggesting that it would be better to rewrite the video core to fix a tiny image quality issue that most people don't even seem to notice?

Also it's not really what you typically think of as a bug. Neobrain changed some ints to floats to improve accuracy and apparently the SSAA shader depended on that inaccuracy to work, so it's broken until someone rewrites it. The shader is doing what it was originally supposed to do. At least the scaling bug is fixed now, image quality has significantly improved as a result.

Also can someone PLEASE revert the post editor back to the way it was. The new one sucks and makes quoting posts with quotes in them a pain in the ass.

I guess he is already talking about the source tab, which for some reason has an incredibly small edit window when used as default.
