Dolphin Graphics problem. Lighting/shadow problem? Help!

Hello. I am having some issues trying to get the graphics to appear correctly while playing Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life.
It's a bit difficult to explain (I've posted screenshots below), but it's essentially like the shadows or lighting function is wrong? Theres like this overlay which almost looks like the menu for Dolphin. Stuff like "Search" and "Hotkey settings" or big blocks. It's all kind of transparent, too, kind of like shadows.
I've tried dolphin 3.0 and 4.0 and both have the graphics problem. I've also tried the most recent unstable version, and I get this error message before it even loads the game "GPU: OGL ERROR: Need GL_ARB_sampler_objects.GPU: Does your video card support OpenGL 3.3?Please report this issue, then there will be a workaround."
I've tried messing around with the configurations and graphics settings and still haven't been able to find anything close to a solution.
I know it should work on my computer because I have used dolphin with no issues with the same game before (approx 2 years ago, but a friend configured Dolphin for me.)
I thought it might be the game itself, so I tried another one. Same problem.

Does anybody have any idea how to fix this? I am hoping the reason why I can't find any existing threads or info on this means that it's a super simple and obvious solution.

Congrats you have the infamous Intel HD 3000 on Mac. They have some really stupid issue with Dolphin (and I don't know if it has been fixed, I doubt it). And then on top of that you're on OSX 10.7. All in all, a bad combo.

Update to OSX 10.10, as it has better drivers, and will possibly fix that (its a free update)

Wow, I didn't realize Intel HD 3000 was infamous! Shows you how much I know on this stuff.
Thanks, though. I'll try updating.

If you can use an older build of dolphin, like 3.0, then you can disable lighting.
You won't get any shadows, but at least it doesn't look silly

edit: Here is an old thread where I brought it up:
